Re: January Applicants
I don't understand something. We are highly organized and highly motivated. Why do we all fend for ourselves here? Even though I got my CHL renewal done I would be more than willing to sign a petition, or letter in a group which puts much more pressre than individual calls and might actually fix the...

Re: Renewal Question
Well it has been 70 days for me so unless you planned way ahead, being without a CHL would be pretty hard to do.
Once it takes longer than 6 months it should be criminal. Our certificate expires after 6 months I think.

Re: January Applicants
Anyone know where the money goes for our renewals and applications? that is 140 + 70 every 4-5 years from 300K people. Heck if you calculate the lowest numbers possible of 315K people just renewing every 5 years that is 4 million a year and they only employ one guy for the most populous county in th...

Re: Renewal Question
So they got my renewal on 1-26-09 and today is around 60 days, should I start writing letters or is 60 the new 45?
Both of my reps are Dems, should I even bother writing them?

Re: Renewal Question
i wish I knew 45-60 days was a joke. I would have taken the class much earlier.
This has to be some type of rights violation for those renewing. I mean if it takes over 6 months to renew it is impossible to have a CHL the entire time.

Re: Harris County Applicants
How do people know that it is Harris country with the delays?
Mine has been 60 days now (renewal) and am curious what the general problem is.

Do they send out any notification that they recieved your renewal and are working on it?
I checked the status on the webpage today and it said processing or whatever but that might be from my first application not my renewal.
thanks

Decent Gunsmith in Houston or surrounding area
I am looking to get my bolt action rifle's stock bedded and fit. This gun is really valuable (to me, not really in a $$$$ sense) so I don;t want him to ruin my stock.
any suggestions?
Also how much should this cost?

Re: ammo on sale
I can't believe ammo prices these days. I remember back in '06, when I was just starting into the shooting scene (pistols mainly; I thought I would have no "need" for a rifle), Blazer aluminum 9mm 115gr. was 4.99/50 at Academy. I had to get friends to buy pistol caliber ammo because I was...

Re: Renewal questions
Well I did the address change online. They never asked if I was over 30 days so I don't see how they can suspend me. I guess I will find out.

Renewal questions
I just moved this past month and have not changed the addy on my CHL yet. I changed it on my DL though. Is this going to be a huge problem for renewal? (my b day is in Nov.) Second, I can take the renewal class and turn in the paper work as long as my CHL expires within 6 months right? For instance ...
