Verbal warning valid if given before having license
In another post, the company of a CHL carrier changed their Employee Handbook to disallow carrying of a firearm. He was a CHL carrier before the rule came into effect. While reading this I started thinking...what if the situation was flip flopped. Say someone was given verbal notice when they starte...

Stop and Identify
I tend to ask dumb questions so please bear with me. According to TX PC 38.02: You must give your Name, Address, and DOB if asked WHILE being arrested or detained. Therefore, if you are just having a FTF contact with an officer and you are not being detained, you do not have to show ID if requested ...

Re: Who has authority to ask you to leave?
The thing is, he never spoke with me directly. My wife is the nursery coordinator and was at the training today. So she is the one who heard it, not me. I have still have not received an oral warning. But according to this LEO, if I ever get "found out" the security team (whoever is servin...

Who has authority to ask you to leave?
My church has had a security team for a while now. They are finally getting some good "training" on what to do in emergency situations. I don't know all of the training they have received but I do know that a police officer in our church has been doing part of that training. He told them t...

Not in Hays but Lone Star Gun Range (http://www.ctxpta.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) is in Caldwell county. Lockhart to be exact. Got my CHL there from Ross and Dottie Bransford.

Re: Really bad jokes
I love my MIL as well...
Last year I bought her a tombstone for a Christmas present.
This year I didn't buy her anything. So she asked me...Why didn't you buy me anything for Christmas this year?
So I said, You still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!

Travis County Expo Center - Saxet Gun Show
I searched and couldn't find but 1 or 2 mentions of the Saxet Gun Show at the Travis County Expo Center (TCEC). I hear that the TCEC is posted with a 30.06 but that it is owned by the county (government). Therefore, the sign is invalid. First off, am I correct in my thinking? Secondly, if this is tr...

Re: Texas Church Shootings
I used to be a Youth Pastor at a church for a few years. One of the youth told me that their friend would always break into the cars of people while they were at church because they knew no one locked them.
Not quite "church shooting" but along the same lines of letting down your guard.

Re: Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington
I like carrying into Sea World. They have people searching your bags but not your body ;) I think I remember having to go through a metal detector at Six Flags San Antonio though. No 30.06 but my sun glasses set it off. Not sure. There is also a 30.06 at Six Flags in San Antonio. Sorry, I mispoke. ...

Re: Made twice in the same week!
Ive never had a problem before until this past week. Even my parents who know I carry were surprised they couldnt tell. As for the couch situation, my shirt was actually long and loose. I think the problem was that my holster worked its way towards the small of my back in an awkward position (at lea...

Made twice in the same week!
I have been made twice this week already. I'm on a roll here! The first time was at church this past Sunday. It actually started about 3 weeks ago. A friend of mine went to grab my attention and say hi as I was walking by so he put his hand right on my side. Totally hit the butt of my BT 380. Didnt ...
