Re: xd 45 compact
Also, Ruger P-series are great if on more of a budget. The one that I think everybody should fire and handle if they can find it is the Stoeger Cougar. This was a great gun to shoot and I think the .40 S&W I shot was less then $400 new in box. It's basically a Beretta made in Turkey from my understanding.

Re: xd 45 compact
Try to handle and shoot every .45acp you can. There are many companies that sell great weapons. Sig, Hk, Glock, Springfield, S&W, Beretta etc. The only reason I carry Glocks as my primary when carrying a semi-auto is that I asked several LEOs and four local gunsmiths in the area which polymer gun they fix the least. They all said Glocks and that they make up the largest majority of polymer pistols. That being said every other company I mentioned has better ergonomics then Glocks. If I had $800+ bucks to burn a sig 220 would be real nice!

Re: xd 45 compact
Got nothing against XDs, good guns. That being said I am a Glock guy but for a polymer compact .45acp I would go with the S&W M&P .45. Both have a 4in barrel but I just think the M&P is great. Can't go wrong with an XD though!
