There are many situations that can not be answered with one absolute answer. First of all you were there and we were not, but I commend you for offering help to someone in need. However, as you described the story I can not agree that drawing and firing you weapon was the right thing to do in this case. If the dogs had been in full attack mode going for the mans throat...that would be entirely different. We need to chose our battles very carefully and consider the consequences. Just because we have an CHL that does not make us cops who have the responsibility to intervene in all circumstances involving citizens in need. Calling the police was the best idea and then I think I would have tried to assist the men as best as I could until help arrived.

I received my CHL for the sole purpose of protecting my family and myself from criminal attack. Now that does not mean if someone is in imminent danger of losing their live from someone, or something, using deadly force against them, I will respond like wise.

Again, I commend you on giving aid to someone in need and I am not criticizing you. :thumbs2:
