I'm happy to see this thread return to the topic, and get off the PC debate.
I always carry at home; inside and outside.

For some reason I've never forgotton this incident. In Indianapolis at least 15 years ago, a man was cleaning the gutters on his house. A group of teenagers walked-up his drive way and demanded money. He refused. One of the teenagers shot him off the ladder. He died on the spot. They took his wallet before they left.
