"Thank you for contacting me regarding SB 730, relating to the transportation and storage of employee firearms while on employer-owned property.

During my time as a state senator, I have consistently been a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and of citizens' right to carry firearms. In 2007 I voted for similar legislation prohibiting an employer from penalizing employees for transporting or storing a handgun the employees are licensed to carry in locked vehicle in the employer’s parking lot. Unfortunately, this bill was left pending in the House late in the session.
