Re: El Dorado schematic
Hey, thanks for the try. No they arn't the same. This was a small family company in the late 70-s to 80's, that did change names a few times. If you search them up it is an interesting read. Anyway, their claim to fame is the El Dorado being the first all stainless .44mag made available to the publi...

El Dorado schematic
Does anyone out there happen to have a schematic or blow up of a United Sporting Arms El Dorado .44 mag. Or better yet, have one they could take a picture of the parts in the grip around the cyclinder lockup? Thx guys. I've spent hours and hours online. None of the normal sources have one that I can...

Re: I've finally gone and done it.
I've reloaded all my life (I'm 53) and load most of the common pistol calibers. I use Unique exclusively for all my pistol applications except my magnums. Actually is suitable for those if you aren't looking for max velocity. Some will say it burns dirty, but that has been fixed with currently produ...

Re: Taurus PT1911
My experience with my Taurus PT 1911 is that it is a really smooth, sweet shooting, bargain for the money. Mine has functioned flawlessly with many different ammo's and loads. Accuracy is spot on. Taurus lists, I believe 19 "custom" features that they do on their 1911's out of the box. Som...

Re: Question for S&W Buffs
Thank you very much for the efforts and replies. I will post on the S&W forum and email or call when I get a chance. I'll be sure to let you guys know what I find out and try to put a picture or two up! I was hoping I might have stumbled into the perverbial sleeper or rare edition model! Thx aga...

Question for S&W Buffs
Ok folks....put ur thinkin caps on! :-) I recently aquired a S&W Mdl 36 (no dash) .38 Spc. snubby. The gun is nickel plated with a pinned barrel and appears virtually unfired or fired very little. It's really tight. I know the pinned barrel means made prior to '80. Here's the kicker....it has go...

Re: Economical Single Shot .243
Cool. Keep an eye on Davidson's Gallery of Guns. If you are not familiar with them they are a wholesaler but you will be able to search for dealers in your area. Some of the dealers will actually have a "shopping cart" on their site where it will give you your cost from that particular dea...

Re: Economical Single Shot .243
With the key word being economical I agree 100% with the New England Handi-Rifle. I've dealt with 4 of them in 4 different calibers and every one has one thing in common.......they are amazingly accurate tack drivers. In short, I've found them to be about the most accurate out of the box rifle I've ...

Re: Remington ISP 12Ga. SBS
Thx! Yea, I agree and as a general rule don't go cheap on a gun. I saw these on sale at a really good price and I enjoy occasionally taking a double out to the dove tank, but believe I will just stick to the Browning auto for now until I eventually aquire a really nice dbl. I was not familiar with t...

Remington ISP 12Ga. SBS
Does anybody own or know anything about the quality of the Remington ISP side by side line of shotguns. They are made by Baikal Arms of Russia "to Remington specifications" They are relatively inexpensive but how is the quality? I know it wouldn't be a Weatherby or Browning but for perspec...

Re: Powder and primers
Thx guys. Believe I will give them a try. At least on my bulk loaded stuff like pistol. Stick with what my load is worked up with for my rifle/hunting loads. Have a good one.

Re: Refinishing Milsurp guns
That's what I was thinking. Thx. Oh.....and great looking finishes on yours. My stock after cleaning up looks about like the "before" pic of your carbine on here. Did you use any kind of stain to get it back the way it looks or just the products you described? I'll post some before/after p...

Re: Refinishing Milsurp guns
Just a quick update and question. The resto project is going well. Found about a 90%+ overall nice parkerized finish under all that black gunk. The stock I have cleaned up nicely and am reading to "treat". Here is the question.....it may seem rather silly, but I just thought if and was kin...

Question for 98K Buffs
Hey guys. I just got two of the RC German 98K's in from AIM. Nice guns. One is s/n 6338, with a code of S/243. This one is manufactured 1938. The falcon (or whatever exactly the German bird is! LOL) does not have the swastika under it on this one. The other is s/n 16388, with a code of byf, manufact...
