I would really use caution buying those meals. Kraft owns South Beach now and uses many of the very ingredients that the original author says not to eat. South Beach is a great way to eat, but not a temporary and quick one.

Always remember that South Beach was designed by a cardiologist to improve heart health. It was actually suggestions by this cardiologist that were featured in a Miami newspaper that got very popular and turned into the book you just borrowed. It is very poorly written, but has some fascinating material about what makes us eat the way we like to eat.

my wife and i started last august on the south beach diet. easiest diet to stick with i've ever tried. i dropped fifty-two pounds in seven months without serious cravings (well except chuy's tex-mex, but i resisted except as a treat.)
this diet makes a lot of sense and changes the way you eat without making you count calories. get the book and read it.
my blood sugar is down (never a problem) my cholesterol is down and i have more energy.
btw; i'm reading now that up and down weight may be more harmful than a little extra weight. from the experts (said with a snicker.)
wish all of you well in this.
I agree completely. I have been using a modified verison of the South Beach Diet for the last several months and really like it. I eat a lot of food...and lose weight. I do exercise five days a week.

For the record, I started out my mission at 292 pounds and rising.....I am typing this at 205 pounds and almost as strong as my teen years. I decided I did not want to die.

There is a TON of sodium in frozen dinners. Be careful not to lose weight and end up driving your blood pressure through the roof.

I can only speak for myself here, but I have found that sugar/flour is the beast that was keeping me obese. After years of failing, I am within five pounds of my goal. Low fat/high carb diets had a very temporary effect on my weight.

Good job on the exercise! It sounds like a lot of fun.

Re: Weight Loss thread....

You have my support.

I know that keeping weight off is difficult.....very difficult. I have struggled with it my entire life. I am dead serious about my weight and have decided that I am going to live for my family.

Feel free to send a PM my way if you just need to vent frustration. Take care.
