Return to “League City PD - Citizens Patrol Academy”

The folks participating in a Citizen Police Academy are exposed to many things they will likely never do, crime scene work, fingerprinting, etc. I believe it is done to provide a better understanding of what police work consists of. Many find it neat to shoot the same qualification course as the guys/gals working for the department (in many cases the citizens are better shooters). I think of it as a way the citizens show support for the department and not a training course preparing them for all parts of police work. The League City Citizens Police Alumni are extremely supportive of the department and work hard to improve it. From what I have seen, there is no shortage of appreciation from the department employees.Abraham wrote:I was given to believe if you're a member of such an organization you're not allowed to carry a handgun while on patrol (even if you have a CHL) - so why are there range classes?
Or, am I misinformed?
