I just call my AR15 an AR15 to avoid any confusion. If I am really feeling froggy, I call her "Betsy" .The term "assault rifle" tends to be used as inflammatory and serves little purpose to me. I generally only hear it described as such by the news media. Perhaps it has uses in some circles, just not mine. Thank you for the lesson in origin...I have read it before.
