I had an experience very similar to John L's a number of years ago on a bank robbery call. (I think the holster was an Uncle Mike's as well.) Fortunately the situation didn't call for discharging the weapon, but seeing it come out with the gun was a sobering experience. Since that incident I've never carried a holster with a device that doesn't positively fasten the holster to the belt in a way that makes sure it can't come out on the draw. I favor full belt loops for that reason, but the type of clip used on the Comp-Tac Infidel and some types of J clips have also proven themselves worthy over time.
