Re: CHL Instructor Certification FRUSTRATION.
Crossfire, Fingerprints: Sounds about par for the course. Frustration: Yes, I'm certain this is what I want to do. I am a degreed and certified educator, have dealt with many a frustrating and potentially armed student unfortunately, and don't feel that the frustration is unwarranted. I currently co...

Re: Next Instructor class?
I'm even more confused. My husband and I both filled out our Instructor apps within the last couple of days. I don't recall seeing an option to select the short or long version on EITHER of our apps. Those folks need some help. This is about the most inefficient I've ever seen this place run. Ugh.

CHL Instructor Certification FRUSTRATION.
Hi all - my husband (a police officer/former military) and I (current CHL holder) are trying to get certified to be instructors. The "new and improved" site is only improved in the way that it's quite easy for them to walk you through the appropriate steps to take your money. Questions I h...

DPS is a joke ...
Ok, so on the whole fingerprint thing. I DID MINE ELECTRONICALLY - and they still got returned. I haven't been on here in a while, so I haven't been keeping up with the posts, but has this happened to anyone else? I was so ticked off that I called and committed the cardinal sin of being a HUGE smart...

Re: May Applications
Well, I just received my PIN. ... unfortunately, it doesn't work. Is there a lag time between PIN receipt and activation? Also make sure you check the box for either TX DL or TX ID Actually, I just received my letter and PIN today. Got the same thing - wouldn't work, so I emailed the address that i...

Re: Indoor Range in Roanoke
Ok, I got all excited about Tactical Edge when it was "about to break ground" for over 6 months, then one of the guys murdered his brother and that was the end of that (besides being a couple hundred grand short on capital investment). That being said, Ill believe someone is building a ra...

Re: Indoor Range in Roanoke
Quail Creek is a range only in the loosest defintion of the word "range." The guys who work there are "interesting".... and the place is a pretty much a dump.... +1! The range officers at Quail Creek behave as if they are guards at a prison camp - try having a conversation with ...

The husband and I are 27 ... assuming the "processing" doesn't take until next April, we'll still be 27.

Re: Utah wait times?
Getting another state's CHL to carry quicker in TX never would have occurred to me. For all of you that have them, do you have to actually GO to Utah to do the training? I just can't figure out how you came across a CHL Instructor who's licensed for Utah, in Texas. Is anyone willing to explain the l...

Re: Scary situation last night
I'm new to the gun world, but am experienced with teens ... I am a high school teacher and yes, they can be not only stupid, but wretched little beings. Yes, there are good ones, so please no child-huggers flaming me about loving all children, etc. The reality is that they CAN be incredibly dangerou...
