Re: Private Range (my range) issues

I was lucky enough to be able to visit this a while back, after he had moved it closer to the center of his property, had the chance to shoot an uzi, and it was AWESOME! I fully hope everything is going fine, and I would love to go back, I'll even offer up a range fee

Re: Private Range (my range) issues

Yah, well we both are bringing our 10/22's and I've got a couple thousand rounds of that I might shoot, it's cheaper anyway, and then probably 5-600 9mm. What's the distance of your range? I have your address. Does that route save time? On my map it's saying it ads about 20 min, but saves only 2 miles over exiting highway 200

Re: Private Range (my range) issues

hilarious! It is rowdy over there isn't it? Combative too, but what do you expect? Target1911 and I should be heading out of Fort Worth around 6:30 (or earlier if he wants) so well be there at 9:30 ~ish, I'm gonna stop off at wally world and grab some cokes and cheap carbonated explosive devices (off brand cokes) So save some shooting for us! (and possibly pick up some more .223 I only have like 300 rounds)

Re: Private Range (my range) issues

Were not going to his backyard to shoot, were coming to yours. Plus I would love for him to come to my house for a shoot, I like any excuse to expel chunks of lead at a high speed. Do you have a link to that topic?

Mortars really don't need a backstop. :biggrinjester:
I think it''s 1/4 lb of explosive? if it's below that it's legal to have in Texas, though you need to look that up before you actually use something

I'm raiding my freezer for sausage, I don't know what or how much I have, we might have to stop off at wally world on the way down there, is there one close by?

That's tough, I'm thinking about it, I gotta trust ya though! Though we both have guns so it's not like were gonna rob each other :biggrinjester: :

Re: Private Range (my range) issues

Exactly, lead is not a problem, lead combined with other stuff is, shooting ranges are not a health problem (except for the dust from the primer, but that drifts away) I think an animal is more likely to die from wandering on a shooting range getting accidently shot than die from lead posioning, and people don't just randomly shoot down ranges without looking.

Re: Private Range (my range) issues

So particle, you're saying that this one property could very well change the states very loved laws? I think you're a little bit hyperbolic, fourman is not under that much scrutiny, people buy property all the time that's been shot on. Lead and copper isn't horrible to have on your property, now I wouldn't put a well right on top of the berm, but it's overall not that big a deal.

You may be walking into a hornets nest, but you may disarm 90% of the situation. For giggles you may ask if you can play a copy of the 911 recording from a month or two back :)
I woul say try this, be extremely respectful, offer to show people your berm, be knowledgeable about any problems, let people (save her imo) come out and watch a shoot. Don't be combative, just if you wish let the listen to her calls, and make sure the people know the difference between an automatic and what everyone in America shoots

My .22 boxes of ammo say they are dangerous up to like a mile, but I can't really image it hurting anything more than say a piece of paper, and even then it would have to be a thin piece of paper
How's 200 yards?
200 Yards < 1 Mile, you're looking at like 1/8th of the distance
