SOLD - Rossi 38 Special +P Revolver
I have a Rossi M351 38 Special +P with 3" barrel 5 shot revolver I bought in 2009 originally for my wife, but she has since downgraded to a little 22 mosquito killer... I want to turn this Rossi and a little extra cash into a Glock 23. The Rossi has only been at the firing range 3 times,...

Re: Florida Trip - Carry Questions
I think we will be spending most of our time at Universal's parks. Any experience with them?
Really I just don't want to leave my pistol in the car, and I'm sure not going to leave it at the hotel. (no safes)

Florida Trip - Carry Questions
Ok, so I've been to Florida before and have a basic knowledge of the Florida carry laws, specifically prohibited places. However, even after reviewing Florida statue, it doesn't seem that any of the theme parks are off limits. (Universal Studios, Disney, Sea World, etc) Does anyone have any carry ex...

Re: Dallas Zoo
Control yourself...I'm not asking if the Dallas Zoo is posted 30.06. As a matter of fact, I'm posting to tell you that the Dallas Zoo is not posted 30.06 . I took the family there on Monday this week, and I searched high and low for a 30.06 sign, and nothing. I spent a good 15-20 minutes at the ent...

Re: home alarm at 5:30 am!
In the 5 years of having my alarm system, I've only had 3 false alarms, none of which resulted in dispatch by PD. My system is set up so that I get a text message on any alarms at the same time the monitoring center is notified. They don't need to call me, as I am notified at the same time they are....

Re: I have been under a rock
You are still required to hand over your CHL when asked for ID, but the penalty for not doing it was removed.
Take that for what you will.

Re: Carrying at work
Let me throw a curveball into the OP situation. As I understand from this thread, verbal notification basically is the same as posting 30.06. How about this situation: You work for an entity at a building specifically exempt from 30.06 (such as a building owned or leased by a local government) where...

Imagine that!shootthesheet wrote:So, this officer was open carrying a firearm with no badge showing or uniform, in Texas, and no one freaked out and started screaming "GUN" or posting 30.06 signs everywhere and no LEOs were harassing him for ID?

Re: Tell someone your packing when going to thier house
I actually am a self-employed service technician of sorts, entering into people's homes on a daily basis to provide them a service. I always carry into their homes. I've never encountered a home posted 30.06 and I've never been asked if I have a weapon. 100% of my clients are completely oblivious or...

Re: loud music ticket haunting me
Take this with a grain of salt. I'm merely repeating what I was told: I spoke with an officer friend of mine who said that a city ordinance violation such as this, for the purposes of "the system", are no different than basic traffic violations. While it probably wouldn't hurt to cover you...

Re: loud music ticket haunting me
So this got me thinking about mine. I just got off the phone with the court, and found out my charges were officially "city ordinance violation" with a fine of $300, so I don't think mine would've affected my CHL status. If your charges were specifically from Penal Code 42.01, then that ma...

Re: loud music ticket haunting me
I'm not sure of the differences in our situations, but I too received a noise ordinance violation ticket, and paid the fine, and it did not hinder my CHL in any way. Mine was filed as a city ordinance violation, class C. EDIT to add: Mine was over 5 years prior to my CHL application, though. I just ...
