The detectors at the door are most likely not metal detectors but RF detectors. Sadly the Library has to guard against theft just like everybody else.TexasAggie2006 wrote:Do you happen to know if there are metal detectors at this location? The Clayton Library is doing the same thing and I'm speaking with them about it. They have metal detectors at the front so I can't just ignore the sign. (not that I would....) Does anyone know if this is standard across all of the City of Houston Libraries?boomerang wrote:I was there this week and the text isn't compliant. It has big white letters on tinted windows in both Spanish and English on both front entrances. It also has a gun buster sign. I don't believe it is a legal ban unless it has some designation for school field trips.
Thanks!

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
This came up in another thread, looks to me like an improper 30.06 posting.

The only court I could find in the building is the JP court on the 11th floor and the County Judge also on the 11th floor. Can they prohibit concealed carry because of the courts on the 11th floor? Or is this all just a big old steaming pile of Bull Droppings (got to maintain the 11 y/o rule). I would just like some straight facts before I go and talk to the county commission (as if that would do any good since most of them don't follow the rules anyway, but that is a different story) but the county judge Arthur Ware seems to be a pretty good guy. He is a retired Marine. Thanks
