Question about Employment

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this.
Over the last 6 years, I have worked at the same company, that is until Jan 15 2009 when out of the blue, I was laid off from my job due to the economic recession. I am still waiting for my background check in Harris county to be completed. When I mailed in my CHL packet I was gainfully employed but now that I am out of work I am worried about what impact this might have when the good DPS Trooper doing the background checks in Harris county finally gets to mine.
Will the fact that I got laid off have any impact on my CHL getting approved? Is there anyone else here who this has happened to?
