You won't find a better deal as this one comes with M4 ramps, Chrome Lined, Double heatshield handguards, heavy buffer, A2 carry handle, and a Pmag all for $799.
:iagree:

+1 for Spike's Tactical. I just ordered a lower from them, and that rifle on their front page is very tempting...
The next one will DEF be spike's tactical ;-) Might build one for pops to return the favor for all the great gifts as of late

RECIT wrote:Don't put an MBUIS on the gas block, for one its not the same height, for two its plastic and will melt over time. I also like the angled for grip magpul is offering right now. I think it is more comfortable than a vertical grip and keeps me tucked in better and my elbows down.
I didn't think about that until another thread mentioned it. Right now I am thinking the GG&G flip up spring actuated sight up front and the Magpul MBUS in the back. I can say that I think i will be waiting until the summer as the MBUS2 which is slimmed down is coming out then. Same with the AFG, i noticed a sketch of the AFG2 that is supposed to swing down like a regular grip as well as lock in the traditional AFG position. For now, I'm just going to the MVG because it integrates so cleanly with the MOE stock and it made with the thumb break method in mind.
jeeperbryan wrote: As far as the ASAP, I'm not quite sure on it yet. Something to consider is the "jingle" that the ASAP has because of the metal ring. I'm contemplating switching to the ikickhippies end plate which is cheaper and would get rid of the noise. Instead of iron sights, you might try out the MBUS. I have the rear one and it's pretty tough. You'll probably never use the backup sights once you get the Aimpoint.
Thanks for the heads up on the ASAP plate! I think the ikickhippies is a much better design overall anyway. An no need to sell me the on the MBUS, just want to wait for the second version since it is so close anyway. I will have the Aimpoint mounted and ready to rock in a couple weeks max so the backups can wait.

jeeperbryan wrote:Since it's already got mostly Magpul stuff, you might as well finish it out with Magpul garb. The MVG (MOE Vertical Grip) is just now hitting the market if you're into them.

Tell your dad that the dust cover will clip to the bottom of the Pmag. That way you don't lose it.

Any idea on optics?
Yup familiar with the PMAGs, I just posted that pic cause best closeup of the receiver. Optics are going to be Aimpoint T-1. I figured that since this AR is so light anyway, might as well keep on that theme. Planned additions as as MS2 sling, the ASAP plate, irons (not quite sure on this setup just yet), MVG, B.A.D. lever. Have a XTI Procyon that usually sits on my CZ P-01 thank God for picatinny rail standards :anamatedbanana

I let you know if I can find a brand when I get it in my hot little hands this weekend!

Re: Suggestistions on AR-15s

Well guys and gals, I ended up with the S&W M&P15 MOE with the a picatanny gas block.. I love the look, the price was right, and I get 6 PMAGS total with their rebate! I will get pictures up this weekend when I have it all decked out. Thanks for the input guys. In case your wondering, it was $1,025 (or close to it). Still have plenty left over for tacti-cool accessories. :cheers2:

My recommendations, Great guns. Nothing but praises for the ones I have owned.
What about AR rails? Do they fit on this gun? I am always leary of proprietary platforms because I don't want to unduly limit my options for add-ons and accessories. Thanks guys for the input so far, all good stuff!
Same Picatinny Rails...

All these accessories can be taken off this Sig and put straight on any AR with Picatinny rails.
Sorry, I meant more like can I put quad a quad rail type setup on it? I just am not a fan of that stock furniture (no offense). I noticed the Sig 556 SWAT but it looks to be on the high end of things.

Suggestistions on AR-15s

So I sent my dad a text about something, and just slipped in very jokingly "oh yeah and how about an AR for graduation lol" and he replies "is that what you really want? give me 3 options..." :eek6 Haha well that worked out well! So, I need suggestions from none other but you fine gentlemen and ladies. Working in the $700-$1400 range, and I would be lying if I said I am not might attracted to the Ruger 556 for many reasons. However, I don't want to jump in head first without many many second opinions. So tell me what you like people!

P.S. Optics aren't in that price, I will take care of that myself. 5.56 caliber only as well, work on other calibers later.
