My sense is that the anti-gun crowd will not try to confiscate, but rather will make it nearly impossible to own or use a gun.

For example, they'll make it illegal to carry within a mile of a school, church, government building, etc. They'll raise taxes on ammunition to make it cost prohibitive. They'll push for ammunition registration, bio technology, invasive mental health background checks, and on and on. They'll continue to say 'We agree, gun ownership is a protected 2nd Amendment right, but we need to be sensible about how and where we use guns' which translates to 'Buy a gun if you can, but don't even think about trying to use it'.
