Re: Never going to QUAIL CREEK again!
Ok cool, sounds like Bass Pro and DPC are both good options for me. Thanks to all who posted/PMed!

Re: Never going to QUAIL CREEK again!
I live in the Flower Mound/Grapevine area, and Quail Creek and Bass Pro are both about 15 minutes away from me. Would you guys recommend Bass Pro over Quail Creek? I am younger and new to the world of firearms. The handgun I want to shoot (the subcompact XD 9mm) is my first handgun. Previous guns were my dad's so this is the first one I have bought on my own.
I have shopped at bass pro before and I dunno if it was my band tshirt, the fact that I was younger, or the fact that I had long hair, but the guy at the handgun counter acted like I wasn't going to buy anything and that I was some sort of problem or hoodlum. I asked him if he had a type of gun and he said "NO" in a tone that said "go away".
I worry that they'll freak out on me if I stroll up to Bass Pro with a gun case and boxes of ammo. People see a young guy with long hair and they immediately assume he's a druggie or a depressed angry kid out to cause trouble.
Anyway, it sounds like Bass Pro will still be a better choice than Quail Creek.
