I re-read some of your posts.

I do not agree that if you streamline immigration process or temp work VISA, illegal immigration will cease to exist or drastically easy. There are so many who wants to come to US to make a buck and NOT interested in paying taxes, or even going through the hoops and pay for the legal fees to come legally to US. Even if US instated easy to follow process there are so many who just do not want to follow any rules or pay a dime to come to US legally. Others, as you mentioned wants to do the impossible to leave their country and run after the American dream. In addition, US may still want to control the number of immigrants regardless, and many more still want to come anyway.

Securing the Border is critical for the national interest of the country.

BTW, I find the real obstacle to come and succeed in US is not the financial capacity to afford to immigrate, it is the language, English language. I find it ridiculous that my Gardner who lawn my yard can't speak 3 words of English in comprehensible sentence and I am sure he's been here for years. It is just misery for me to communicate with him and I find him insecure with his day-to-day dealings. Some will just prey on some poor guys like my Gardner.

As matter of principle, I am 100% against illegal immigration. Why in the world illegals immigrants "think" that they are a class above the law or want to be treated unfairly like the rest of us the legal immigrants.

It is the duty of the federal government to:
1) Secure the border, I mean 100% secure the border. It is a joke if US can't do that willingly or negligibly.
2) It is the right of the federal government to allow the immigration to what is best interest of the nation.

Thus, if US needs or wants low cost labor, US can instate temp work visa for migrant workers who would leave the country after their VISA expires. If said temp worker wants to become permanent, he may do so after living here for X year, where X can be stated in a law.

Add to that, US passport, GC holders fly with a GC and their home country's Passport. Also, deportation for GC holder is possible after due process. Like if someone omitted a heinous crime and was under due process convicted with said crime.

Cool it down folks. No harm is done. We Green card holders do not consider ourselves guests anymore. We jumped the hoops like crazy to secure that little card that stay in the safe called a Green Card. If we had intention to be guest we would be only working on a temp work visa. Heck, both my kids are born in US when both Mom and Dad where legal residents, I am sure my kids call US their homeland.

In City like Dallas, the epicenter of High School Dorp out, I am pretty sure there are tons of young kids who are looking for $12/hr jobs. I am als sure some 50% are immigrants (legal or other wise), and many are so called Anchor babies.

I have been living permentally in US since august 19991. I got my GC in july 2007. I had file for GC twice. Am I elegible to file for citizenship?
