I did not expect better than 2" from 16.5" barrel of M400 5.56. It is handloads that make the huge difference.
Just to compare when I run out of handloads, I fired a 5-rd group of Federal XM193 balls and the group opened up to 3" to 4" at 100yrds

Best group as shown above where around 1" to 1.5" at 100yrd. That is  from semi-auto AR-15.

Lonest4r wrote:How is the height? Looks like a 6-9" would perhaps put you into a more natural shooting position. Although it could be just perfect for how you shoot i.e. downhill prone or shorter shooting benches.
Bench shooting, indoors 100 yrd.

Don't you want the bipod legs folding forward? I had mine folding to the rear on my Bushy 308 but I discovered when shooting from the Harris bipod it was necessary to push forward against the legs to stabilize the gun. Maybe you don't need to worry about that too much with 223/556 calibers though.
Bipod would close forward as they should.

Re: lifting up an AR-15.

BTW,

I guess it is time to hand load some 55 gr 223 rd for my SIG M400. Accuracy with factory load XM193 is like 2"-2.5" at 100 yrds.

This is what my bro recommended. Silly me, I ordered this small rail.
Which one you have in mind?

lifting up an AR-15.

To start zeroing my VX-R scope on my SIG M400. I ordered a small rail that attaches below the bayonet lug.
Ah, now I have to tap out the front swivel holding pin and replace it with the provided hex screw. I may have to remove the front swivel altogther. ProMag provided 2-fixed sling hooks.

Note: For the photos, you can note that I used a elastic band to keep the rail in place.
