And this attitude fosters understanding and acceptance of the NRA how, exactly?

This is the very problem with discussing the NRA: It's either the NRA or the highway. There seems to be no middle ground.
Good! You're catching on! There IS no middle ground!

If you are a gun owner and don't support the NRA, then don't say anything the next time your right is restricted!

Re: The NRA.....lets talk!

Just how long do you think it would have taken to start another organization from scratch and gain sufficient membership to have any influence at all in Washington?

I take you as a newcomer to the cause. I joined after the GCA '68 and became a Life member in 1976. I have seen and been part of the battles both won and lost. Without the NRA, every proposed anti-gun bill would have had a strong chance of passing.

Please don't assume that you know anything about the NRA!

Re: The NRA.....lets talk!

If the NRA not been fighting for the 2nd Amendment these many years, you could not have made the decision you made to protect your family.

Without the NRA, the entire country would already be at least as restrictive as CA, possibly much worse.

As far as other activities of the NRA, remember that until the 1960's, the NRA wasn't into politics. They existed to support a civilian shooting program and to provide training to police.

You choose not to support the NRA at the peril of every gun-loving American!

Re: The NRA.....lets talk!

I decided to read on a little further. I'm on page four and feeling a little better. Not because the discussion is any better but because I don't think that group could coordinate a church social. There were some sound ideas proffered and quickly stomped on.

But if they could gather, I would fear them very much as a worse threat to the 2nd Amendment than possibly Obama's administration.

Chaotic?? Just on the first page it went from nothing to armed insurrection!!

They discuss whether to demonstrate armed or not and ends with someone saying, "if we go armed, we better be ready to use them".

You actually think something like this could be good or positive??!!

I wouldn't want to be involved. Why should I read the rest of the pages?

It is if you end up losing!!!

Pardon me, but with regards to protecting the 2nd Amendment, it has nothing to do with how you play the game.

The ONLY thing that matters is winning!
