Their clip has a stout pin that pierces the fabric and doesn't allow the clip to slip. I haven't noticed any damage to slacks or jeans from the pin.

They also offer a line of belt-loop less jeans designed for wear with suspenders only (for you slimmer guys, anyway).

Their clip is plastic and hooks over the belt from the bottom. It was not designed to work well on very thick belts, so it tends to slide off.

At a most inopportune time, the rear clip came off the belt and the rear section splashed into the toilet.

At one time, I even bought a couple pairs of white suspenders. They make them for bakers and even the leather is white. My intention was to wear them over my undershirt, but under my top shirt. It turned out to be impractical, as restroom stalls quite often don't have clothes hooks for the top shirt and trying to unhook and rehook them without removing the top shirt was problematic.
