They also selected conference committee members for SB11. I only remember Birdwell & Huffman.

However, we only need 3 out of 5 votes for each chamber.
Our aces: Birdwell, Huffman, Schwertner
Did you happen to catch the name of the last committee member?
Also, is SB11 now also in danger of being filibustered by Ellis & West?

SB11 was Birdwell, Huffman, Schwertner, and Hinojosa . Huffman, as we know, is chair of the relevant committee for this legislation and a CHL supporter. Re: House 5/27 - HB910 or SB11
Ok, then, I hope that means Sen. Birdwell and Lt. Gov. Patrick think it can make it all the way via the conference process.NotRPB wrote:occurring now motion by Birdwell to not concur SB11 (re respecting private property)

Re: House 5/27 - HB910 or SB11
Perhaps, but there is still time to 1) ask Patrick to expedite the concurrence process, 2) ask Straus and Patrick to appoint supportive conferees, and 3) push for the conclusion that we want, and 4) lobby the Governor's office for adding campus carry to any special session call. None of that may be enough, but it can't hurt.v7a wrote:It goes to concurrence vote in Senate. Where concurrence will probably fail. Then to conference committee.
It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.
