I have a shell card on the side of mine and it goes all the way in without a problem. I am not sure about the one Puma has.

I'll check the space. I was at my LGS and they were installing a shell holder on a Shockwave receiver for a customer. I bought some mini-shell slugs and an adapter. They have some buckshot ordered.

No. I will probably cover it with a loose bucket seat cover with a vertical opening to access it. I use a towel to cover my current truck shotgun in the back seat.

So how does one transport this without scaring the population at large? Even putting it in a back pack would appear to make it an A.O.W. as far as ATF is concerned. We are going to need some method to carry this. I am sticking to my new Mossberg Maverick 88 but I am curious about all firearms.

Well it's shipped in a box in a delivery truck, then carried in a box by the delivery person into a retail store / FFL dealer. The dealer then transports that same weapon, in a box to the counter and either unboxes it for display or further transports this weapon, in a box into the store room. So carrying it in a box is probably OK. Either that, or there are a ton of felons across the country masquerading as FFL dealers and UPS/Fed Ex delivery drivers.

Not sure what is so special about a box as opposed to a backpack or gun case. But if folks are really worried about it, I suppose they could refuse to let the FFL dealer put it back in a box at the store, then drive home holding it out the window of their car since it might not be fully visible, and therefore concealed near you, if it is anywhere in your car. Also make sure you don't put it in a gun case in your home, unless it is a cabinet with a glass door that is clearly visible from outside your house. Doing anything else risks THE RIDE!!!!!!!

I just picked up a Shockwave from my local store. It even comes with a copy of the letter from the ATF in the box. I'm going to go shoot it on my buddy's land, however, I think I'll skip the public range until SEPT 1 just to play it safe.

Given the confusion over this firearm's status here in Texas, if the transfer goes through, the Shockwave will never leave my home.
