Re: Need a Knife Handle
Some of the gun shows have booths that sell materials, you might look there. I might do the same to replace the dowel I used to fabricate a handle for a Weber Grill a while back. For techniques and other info, there is a sub forum for non-firearms tools/weapons over to The High Road. It is frequente...

Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Thanks to Mr. Cotton and everyone else what had a hand in this. It was frustrating and exciting to follow it all.

Re: Fabricate lid handle for Weber grill.
I got a working prototype together. I'll likely get a smaller diameter dowel that fits inside the eyes. This one was a short section left on the cutting station, so the fine folks at Home Depot gave it to me for free. http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp225/9mmfan/1ABC03E8-C8FF-4BB6-868C-3E1227BD50...

Re: Fabricate lid handle for Weber grill.
Thanks for the link, I like that. I wonder if'n there's anywhere in Weatherford (doubtful) or Fort Worth might stock something like those. We have a stove shop (wood burning, also antiques and some other random bits) a couple miles away. Maybe I'll stop in there.

Fabricate lid handle for Weber grill.
I have an older Weber 22.5" kettle charcoal grill that needs a new lid handle. Spot welds that hold the mounts on gave up the ghost, so a simple replacement handle isn't going to work. This happened while the grill was on extended loan to a relative who never ended up using it, lest anyone gets...

Re: Current Market Value Regarding Colt's Pistol:
Of course I just looked at GB, and there was a humble base 100 Years GM with a Buy It Now price of $1299.
That roll mark must be demanding quite the premium!
I'm not going to get my hopes up in that direction, though.

Re: Current Market Value Regarding Colt's Pistol:
Thanks, Salty1. I had considered Gunbroker, but don't have an account to view the completed auctions. Also, when I have looked on GB, it seems like a majority of sellers are asking inflated prices. Of course I haven't been in the gun-buying business for a bit now, so I might be a touch out of the lo...

Current Market Value Regarding Colt's Pistol:
So I find myself in a touch of a quandary. I am waffling on the notion of selling off my Colt (.45 1991 Government Model, "100 Years of Service" roll mark, easily 98% with all hang tags, manual, box, and 3 additional Check-Mate magazines) in order to buy a portable/jobsite table saw (likel...

Colt's 1903 Pocket Hammerless. At the moment the type III stands out, though I forget why exactly. M1 Carbine. Most likely it will be the Auto Ordnance repro. Just 'cause I don't know enough to pick up an original from a gun show. One of the elusive 3" round butted fixed sight K-frames. Blued o...

Adrenaline might cause you not to notice the sound, but the physical damage to one's ears would likely still occur wouldn't it?

Yeah, that would have been nice. My wife and I bought our house from a couple that were alive during the Depression. I'm hoping to stumble on a coffee can of money buried in the back yard.

Drink some coffee, do some things around the house. Try not to be lazy. Drink some more coffee. Probably end up lazy. Maybe something fun in the workshop, s'posed to be cold out, though. Might run up to the Gibson's, look at guns I can't buy, hope they have some Unique in stock. Should go to Home De...

Probably the same as he still is, only creakier. Sources indicate he is still alive at 83.
