I tend to wear my belt pretty tight, not uncomfortably so, but snug. But I also carry guns that are a bit on the heavy side.
If you were to carry a lighter gun, then I would imagine that you would not need it as snug for it to stay in place. But for the best concealment you want the gun to stay put no matter what you are doing.
I don't think you mentioned what your carry piece is.

I primarily carry either my Sig P220 carry or my P228 in a VMII under a t-shirt. Both fit in the same holster. I also have a Sig 239 I carry in its VMII sometimes, although not as often as the other two.
All 3 conceal without issue. 4 o'clock strong side. I don't buy extra large shirts, just use my normal shirts.
With the right belt and holster it should stay pretty tight to the body, my Sigs are not light guns and they do not move around with my setup. I squat down instead of bending at the waist, other than that I do not alter my behavior at all.
I have a friend that has a P228 and uses a crossbreed holster, he does not print either.
