Got the "big dot" on my carry gun too. Its great out to 15 yds., beyond that... don't look for any "fine work", it simply begins to cover the target too much.
Close up, even when "point shooting", you just can't miss it. At night, the residual light from a flashlight (especially Harries technique) will really make it stand out.
Its not for your target gun, I want to make that clear!
