The "cane" makes an excellent self defense tool.

A defensive cane seminar is something we can do up here if there is any interest.

One warning though, unlike the edged weapons seminar....a stick or cane seminar can get pretty gnarly at certain points, (you WILL be sore afterwards).

I was only instigating a discussion about what constitutes an illegal "club"??? I'm not sure I've ever seen a clear definition that describes an illegal "club"...
It's defined in§ 46.01.
§ 46.01. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:
(1) "Club" means an instrument that is specially
designed, made, or adapted for the purpose of inflicting serious
bodily injury or death by striking a person with the instrument, and
includes but is not limited to the following:
(A) blackjack;
(B) nightstick;
(C) mace;
(D) tomahawk.
Its one of my favorite pieces of Texas law. Its legal to carry around ashotgun, baseball bat, or tire iron but get caught with a tribal tomahowk such as what Flintknapper might craft and they can bust you.

I was questioned about why I had Escrima Sticks in the back of my SUV by a State Trooper a few years back. He didn't make a real big deal out of it...but you could tell it irritated him.

If they had been in the front seat it might have played out differently with this guy, hopefully... another might not give it a second thought.

Proof of citizenship? :?: That is no exception to Unlawful Carrying Weapons, TPC 46.02.

Texas Penal Code
§ 46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS. (a) A person commits
an offense if he intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on
or about his person a handgun, illegal knife, or club.

§ 46.01. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:

(6) "Illegal knife" means a:
(A) knife with a blade over five and one-half
inches;
(B) hand instrument designed to cut or stab
another by being thrown;
(C) dagger, including but not limited to a dirk,
stilletto, and poniard;
(D) bowie knife;
(E) sword; or
Here is what makes it legal for you;
§ 46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY.

b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:

(2) is on the person's own premises or premises under
the person's control

So.....how does one transport said "weapon" to his own premises or premises under his control?
