My 21 year old son came home for a short visit last weekend, he was a pallbearer at a funeral here. On the way he was stopped by a DPS Trooper for 74 in a 70. Trooper walked up to his driver's door, asked him if he was in a hurry ? My son replied "no, I'm just on my way to a funeral."

Trooper asked him for DL and insurance papers, my son handed him the DL, his CHL and the insurance card. When he handed them to the Trooper, he told the Trooper that he was carrying. Trooper asked him where the gun was, my son replied that it was inside his left boot. Trooper asked him to step from his truck, and to the right rear and out of traffic.

When they both got back there, the Trooper asked what kind of gun he was carrying. My son replied that it was a S&W 357 snubby. Trooper said "Those are great guns for concealed carry." Trooper told my son he was letting him go with a verbal warning, then told him to have a great day and slow it down a little."

Excellent communication both ways, both parties involved had respect for one another.
