I've decided against buying this extra nice Kimber Ultra CDP II from Rich, so it is still for sale.... and at a very good price considering what he has done to it and including the CT laser grips.
I have another major back surgery coming up on the 25th and I had to seriously think about the wisdom of purchasing another Kimber right now.
My thanks to Rich for waiting while I made up my mind.

Well, no response here, to PM's or e-mails.orionengnr wrote:Pics sent to both gentlemen who emailed/pmed.
Guess the seller had another offer, or didn't want to drive halfway to meet.
I'll keep looking, thanks anyway !!

Rich,
I sent you an e-mail, pictures are not necessary.
If you are willing to meet me halfway for the face to face, I'll bring cash and you can consider your Ultra CDP II sold to a good home !!

Re: Kimber Ultra CDP II
Thanks Chris, I appreciate your comments, and glad you like the Kimbers !
I'd sure like to add this Ultra CDP to my 'keeper collection', just waiting to hear back from the seller.

Re: Kimber Ultra CDP II
While you freely admit at the beginning of your post that you are a "kimber hater", please don't assume that all prospective buyers might limp wrist a Kimber because they are not familiar with a Kimber.Shinesintx wrote:Kimber hater here. Personally, I would rather buy a used Kimber that works really well than a new one. Just a thought: Make sure the prospective buyer does not limp wrist. I found the hard way with my G30. I always thought it was my Kimbers fault...until I was properly educated.
I have purchased/traded/sold 18 Kimbers in the past couple of years. Bought from folks here on the forum, and sold to quite a few folks here on the forum. Of all the Kimbers I have owned, only one used 1911 and one new model Solo have had a problem. Of all the Kimbers I have traded or sold, no one has ever reported back that they had a problem with the gun.
The 1911 was a used early edition Ultra Carry with external extractor. Sent it in to Kimber, they returned it with a new internal extractor equipped slide, new barrel, polished internals and brand new new night sights.... and they knew when I called them that it was a used gun I had purchased at a gun show with no idea about rounds fired or history of the gun. The repairs cost me nothing but shipping one way.
The early Solo models have had a few problems, mine included. After sending it in to Kimber, it has run perfect in every way. Kimber picked up total costs of repairs, including shipping both ways.
So hate Kimbers all you want..... but some of us have had fantastic results with kimbers and are not inexperienced when it comes to buying one. If I end up purchasing the seller's Ultra CDP, I will not need to fire it before the purchase. He is a reputable poster here and his description and experiences with the Kimber are enough for me. If a problem were to arise in the future, I will either fix it myself or once again trust Kimber's great customer service deparftment.
