Re: Best 1911
Okay, since it has become a picture thread as well.
All Kimbers. The center is my favorite. It is an Eclipse Pro Honestly though, there are a lot of great brands and models out there. My uncle's and another person I know in the Sheriff's department here carry Springfields. Find what you like and can comfortably shoot.

I have tried to cause it to jam by intentionally limp wristing it, and it has always functioned well. Shot about 100 rounds of wolf through it before I had to clean it due to it being too dirty to eject. Same thing with my Colts. Dad has a Taurus he bought recently that shoots well too. STI makes some very good stuff, but its way out of my price range.MoJo wrote:+1 on STI - - - You can't go wrong with a Springfield or Colt eiher. Personally, I'd avoid the "K" word I've seen too many of the series II choke to be comfortable with one.
I'm right there with you. I have three Kimbers and they work great. The only one I ever had a problem with was when the firing pin and ejector area had not been cleaned in a long time. Other than that, no problems, even with JHP ammo. But I am definitely of the mind set that you should find what fits for you.
