I emailed Senator Cornyn as well as my Representative in the House, asking them to focus on people, not objects. I would have emailed Senator-elect Cruz as well, but his site hasn't changed over from campaign-mode yet. I don't believe that bans, restrictions, etc.. will help the people who so desperately need it. While it may seem a small thing, I think that we need to let our representatives know how we feel so that when they are pressured by the knee-jerk grief-driven reactionaries, they will have voices from the other side ringing in their ears as well. I tend to believe that much of the gun control stuff right now is grief-driven and that once cooler heads emerge, the gun-bans and such will hopefully fail to make it out of committee.

I don't know about them, but if I were in Congress, the voices from my own district/state would mean more than the talking heads on TV.
