If you want to stay on the forum, and I doubt you do, then do the following:

1. Change your screen name. (I'll have to do it for you, so tell me what you want.) It's fine for you to be the voice of the opposition, but combining that roll with your screen name results in an insult to the rest of the members.
I did not notice this before.

I have had that screen name for years. I even have the domain name bradfromearth.com which has been registered since 04-feb-2006.

It also plays into the idea that "all men are created equal" My proclomation is that I am Brad, from earth, just like every other man woman and child on earth. You know the opposite of I am Brad from "the rich part of town" (Park Avenue) or "the tough part of town" (Bronx).

It has never been meant to offend anyone.

This is childlike thinking. Like when kids think that Dogs and Cats always hate each other (unless of course they have a dog and a cat as pets)

The die hard republican really created their own mess. If you all really wanted a theocracy you should have started a long time ago. This country is a Democracy and as such the votes count (most of the time) Your all simply out numbered now. I guess all of the Die hards could move to Alaska and merge the cessation party with the republican party and all live in theocratic bliss. You could call it the Republic of Alaska.
If you want to stay on the forum, and I doubt you do, then do the following:

1. Change your screen name. (I'll have to do it for you, so tell me what you want.) It's fine for you to be the voice of the opposition, but combining that roll with your screen name results in an insult to the rest of the members.

2. Don't make another personal attack on anyone -- not one. If you can't state your position respectfully, then don't post.

3. Don't be a troll. Posting something like "the Die hards could move to Alaska and merge the cession party with the republican party . . ." is clearly designed to start a fight and it's trolling. You are neither funny nor enlightening.

You clearly think you are the only voice for the Democrat Party but that proves you haven't bothered to research the opinions expressed on the TexasCHLforum before joining and immediately violating our rules. There are a number of Democrats on the forum and they present their positions and beliefs respectfully. They are members of our "family" regardless of their party affiliation. There are Libertarians that do likewise. Contrary to your snide remark, TexasCHLforum is not an extension of the Pachyderm Club, though I suspect the majority of members vote for more Republican candidates than they do Democrats. I must admit, even the Democrats on the forum agree that Obama would be the most anti-gun President this country has ever seen. Trying to argue otherwise is as futile as arguing that the sun doesn't rise in the east, but do so if you wish just do it respectfully.

Before you head down the First Amendment road, let me save you the trouble. The First Amendment applies only to government action, not our rules on this forum. Nevertheless, we don't engage in wholesale restrictions on opinions you can express. We do care how you state those opinions. You can express almost any opinion that doesn't violate the rules of the forum. Please take the time to read those rules and you will see very little content restrictions. Even the restrictions on how opinions can be expressed are designed to ensure that discussions don't become personal attacks or contain profanity.

All that said, you must understand that coming to TexasCHLforum and trying to support someone like Obama is not going to garner much support for your position. It would be like me going to speak at "Reverend" Wright's church and telling his congregation that he is an anti-American, racist liar and expecting a warm welcome. As long as you can accept that your position will be in the minority and you do not lash out with insults, personal attacks, or lies, then you are welcome.

If I don't hear from you today about a new screen name, then I will take it that you don't want to remain on the forum.

Chas.
Chas
Why would you assume that I do not want a presence on this forum?
Why would I or why should I change my screen name. Is it offensive?
"2. Don't make another personal attack on anyone -- not one. If you can't state your position respectfully, then don't post."
Does an Obama support count as anyone?
"As long as you can accept that your position will be in the minority and you do not lash out with insults, personal attacks, or lies, then you are welcome."
I have not done it but I am sure that if I searched the forum I could find many instances of very disparaging remarks about Obama supporters. I will however respect the rules myself and ensure that my commentary is non-personal to ensure no one is offended.

I think the core issue here is that it all goes both ways. That is the thing that a true patriot never forgets, that is that you cannot have freedom and yet opress those same freedoms for others. If you want to "vote my mouth shut" by deleting my posts or my account then that is your right. A right that I would personally go to war to defend. I don't think it would be in the best interest of good healthy debate to. Just like playing a game with only opponents you can beat. It does not serve to make your game any better.

I also do not think the folks on this board have weak stomachs. After all it is a board for those who are or desire to be liscensed to carry a firearm concealed. I know that I went through a mental process of deciding if I was willing to actually end the life of another man, if it came to it. I would not be willing to carry and not willing to shoot. I think the majority of folks faced the same realities with themselves. Not all but most.

Let me know what you decide.

Re: Political Bumper Stickers could make you a target

This country is not, actually, a Democracy. In a true democracy 51% of people could theoretically enslave 49%.

We live in a Constitutional Republic wherein the government is supposed to respect and not infringe upon the inherent rights of man, some of which are enumerated in the Constitution for particular emphasis.
I have never hear this but after looking at it I like it.

As for Obama, he is certainly half full of it like the rest of the Politicians. If he goes too far left of center then we have term limits and I will certainly vote Republican again if I feel I need to.

I like to look at voting like hiring. You have to find the right person for the job, right now Obamma is the better man for the Job right now. If Nukes had flown lately or the 2nd 911 had come and gone then he might not be the fighter we would need. It is all about keeping balance and the whole reason we have close elections is because when it comes down to it the far left and the far right are not the majority. That is occupied by the middle. So I guess my true political party is "Swing Voter" :)

I would take this as not only a personal attack at any one person but a personal attack and several people of the forum.
I respectfully - agree - with you. My responding as I have was simply because as one who loves his country I was personally disturbed and offended to see this kind of talk on a forum like this. I joined the forum for information not political fear mongering. As an American I find it truly disturbing.

Also I should say that I respect an individuals opinions and their expression of them. Even if they offend me.

"There are three kinds of patriots, two bad and one good. The bad ones are the uncritical lovers and the loveless critics. Good patriots, on the other hand, carry on a lovers quarrel with their country."

Re: Political Bumper Stickers could make you a target

This is just nothing more than fear mongering at its worst.

If you think that the bumpersticker on the car had anything to do with what happened then Obama is certainly a "Muslin" They would have done the same thing bumpersticker or not.

All of the them versus us rhetoric is really ignorant. I have several guns and I am voting Democrat this year. I am not a Republican, I am not a Democrat, I am an American. Go ahead keep voting for the Republicans, you see where it has gotten you so far. It will only continue. It is the same old struggle that has been going on for centuries.

Oh and under Obamma, my taxes are definitely going UP, for the rest of the 99% out there don't worry things will get better in spite of you. If this go round is not enough, well then another 4-8 years ought to certainly do it for you.

I pay a big premium to live in a gated community with video surveillance and security guards, but you know what! I'd really rather NOT.
