FYI, I just read in a magazine (technologies for worship) that the final report was released and the fault did not lie in the sound system. The sound system was properly installed and grounded. The problem was in a faulty baptistry heater that shorted and sent an approximate 80v charge into the water. All was fine until the pastor touched the microphone completing the circuit and allowing the voltage to pass through his body and into the properly grounded sound system.stevie_d_64 wrote:Ohhh, make sure your "microphone" in there is grounded...I heard a bad story recently about a minister who died when he was in the baptistry and adjusted the mic...FYI...
I am the Technical Director at my church and followed that story very closely.
I also carry at church nearly every time I am there. The only times I don't is when I am going there straight from work where I am not allowed to carry and don't trust the safety of the parking lot to hold my weapon in my locked car.
I am also aware of one church that specifically posts 30.06 to disarm people and prepare them to become victims. Fellowship Church in Grapevine Texas has 30.06 signs posted at every public entrance.
