Re: April 2009 Applications
My wife is still processing, 130+ days and counting, but as I've said before, she's not in a rush and I hesitate to email or call on her behalf, they usually want the first person to make the contact. But when I was waiting on mine, I was on the computer and phone on day 60 .

Re: April 2009 Applications
My wife is on day 126, no paperwork snafus at all, she really doesn't care when she gets it so I haven't been calling like I did with mine.

Anyone else carry their pistols in messenger bags or other bags?
Mine is solid black though...I am second guessing the Xtra Small, since I can't fit my school notebooks in it...but for carrying my firearm, it's pretty good. It also has a small hidden pocket inside that fits a holstered baby glock perfectly...
When I carry this, I use my man-purse, it's the only way to carry the thing, even though it's light, it's not small.

On day 61 I emailed my Senator (never got a response) and my State Rep (great guy, helped all he could), DPS called within a day and said they were waiting on background checks, I got it in 77 days, but it couldn't hurt to start emailing IMO.

Re: April 2009 Applications
My wife received her PIN this week and it says "Processing Application". It took 55 days to get the PIN, I'm sure it's still a month or more off. She's totally unconcerned, she says when it shows up in the mail she'll know it was approved. I checked mine several times a day and couldn't wait. Now if she was waiting for a gift card from SteinMart, she'd be checking that mailbox hourly .

Re: April 2009 Applications
If you live in Harris and work in another county or visa-versa, DPS does a background check in both, I was very lucky to get mine in 77 days, I don't think my wife will be as lucky.

Re: April 2009 Applications
My wife took the Ladies Only class at PSC last weekend and sent hers off yesterday, she has the same criteria I had, lives in Galveston County and works in Harris, it took 77 days for mine with no paperwork problems, I'm sure hers will be close to that barring problems. Good luck to all, try not to think about it, but I know that's not easy.
