I got the same call this week. I feel confident it was legit. You could hear other marketers in the background, he had a very professional presentation on the current anti-gun activities. He called me by name. When I explained that I had 10 children, was moving and taking a lower income, he said "Well we understand the problems americans are facing. can we count on you then for $50." When I told him no, he did an Abraham and lowered it again. So, it is occuring and I think legit. They are just using wrong tactics to do a good thing.
