Granted, lots of unknowns to this story. And, Would You Shoot vs Legal To Shoot ?
I think the LEO's returned his weapon because he was "legal" to shoot, and did so.
The gentleman was waiting to make sure his wife got to work safely (I think that's
cool). I think it reasonable he believed the BG's had just done a robbery and he was
in fresh pursuit (PC9.42 / 9.43). These things happen really fast, and I won't second
guess the CHL's actions. I'm glad he and his wife (and other employees) were not harmed.
This whole robbery scene could have turned bad real quick. Good on Mr CHL.
