Nope, lots of people on this board have never been to Utah, but have Utah permits.

You only have to wait 5 years from the date of conviction on a Class B misdemeanor before you are eligible for a Texas CHL. By the time you go through the whole process to get this thing expunged, you will probably be at 5 years anyway, so I would save my money.

And, BTW, you can get a Utah permit 3 years after a Class B misdemeanor (unless is was a DUI, then 6 years), and still be legal to carry in Texas.
