She then stopped at one particular item and asked, "Where are the earrings"? I looked at my ex-wife with a confused look as the earrings were being purchased among other things for a teenaged niece and might have cost a maximum of five dollars, if that high. The lady started pawing through the mulititude of bags and I looked at her and told her that I didn't have the faintest idea which bag they might be in. She shrugged, handed me the receipt and we left.
I only remembered the incident because of this post...
My question is why would it matter where the earrings were, if it's on the receipt you obviously paid for them!
