Tex Calhoun is a pseudonym I used back when I was writing feature stories for magazines... especially when the author of the article needed to write authoritatively about horses, chili or barbecue. I think the name evokes the image of an Irish cowboy.

"Tex" from Texas and "Calhoun" from one of the streets in the core of downtown Fort Worth.

A few months ago, I discovered that my father's family is Irish instead of Scottish (as we had been told for a number of generations), so I started using the name online to celebrate my previously unknown Irish heritage. :tiphat:
