Re: Travelling - interstate via airlines.. case?
I fly about 70% of the year for the last 4 years, so I'm no stranger to flying thankfully; I'm just confused on the method of checking the box in. Does the tag need to be on the inside or outside? The link from above says inside, always. Does anyone fly through Hobby? That's my primary airport for n...

Travelling - interstate via airlines.. case?
I'm a travelling consultant, and as such I travel mostly outside of Texas (though I've had a few engagements inside of Texas, but they are rare.) Right now I'm just north of Philidelphia. Thankfully, the gun laws here are fairly lax, but I've been to a few other states where it isn't so (Minnesota c...

Re: So my truck got broken into....
If they want to force us not to carry they should be liable for protecting us. :evil2: I'm so mean. No, you're not mean - this is exacly how I think as well. If you are going to take away my right to protect myself, then you had well better provide me with protection! Airports have metal detectors ...

Re: So my truck got broken into....
Someone else here on the forum recommended the Center of Mass (http://www.center-of-mass.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) website as a place for safes specifically for the car. I put one from there on my list to Santa. T. Thanks for this link; we've had a Blazer i...

Re: CC and dating
The way I did it with my wife was mention that I was going to the range (by myself) rather than invite her in casual conversation. I wasn't CC at the time, but her response wasn't negative (she mentioned her father used to hunt but that she didn't know much about guns.) Eventually I talked to her in...

Re: October Application
We JUST got ours yesterday - and that's after I called my rep and griped at him.
We might have gotten ours on Thursday for all I know - we weren't here but someone came and checked our mail on Wednesday so I know it wasn't here by then.

Re: Galveston County
They must've done something - ours were approved on Monday 2/16, still waiting for plastic but we're out of town at the moment and won't be back until tomorrow night. Had someone check our mail last night and nothing, so hopefully it'll show up by the time we get home tomorrow night. Then again, the...

Re: October Application
I got tired of looking but the wife loooked today and saw that ours is complete! I had looked on Friday so I know it just happened today. We're in Winsconsin this week so we won't get them until we get back at the end of the week anyway. Just glad it finally happened - now if only that AR15 I ordere...

Re: Galveston County
I got a call from my Rep (Larry Taylor) yesterday - he said he'd have mine and my wife's expedited, and took our SS#'s to make sure it happens. Haven't heard a peep from the DPS, but then again this was just yesterday afternoon when he called. While I don't have a lot of faith in the system, I DO ha...

Re: October Application
I just got a call from Larry Taylor (my representative) and he said he completely understood our situation (that we're in what is NOW a higher-crime area after Ike) and that we REALLY need our licenses (vs the panic people who got one after the election.) He's having ours expedited now, so hopefully...

Re: Harris County Applicants
Quite frankly I'm appalled that there's any kind of financial requirement to defend yourself. So only those who are in good standing with the state of Texas are allowed to defend themselves? I'm fortunate enough that I don't owe on any school loans (I don't have any, never did) and don't owe any bac...

Re: October Application
Well hell, my wife and I are still waiting. I'm hoping it'll be any day now. Ours went "processing" on the 31st of October, but we both have been in Galveston and Harris counties in the last 5 years. Stormwatcher, thanks. I'm just triyng to gauge if people in our situation are seeing any f...

Re: October Application
Stormwatcher - where are you located? Our applications went to "processing" on the same day as yours. (Oct. 31st) Hoping maybe ours will be approved soon!
