That's the only reason I'm glad my congregation has not decided to open up a school in our (relatively) new facility. However, there is some encouraging "news." The law says carry on school premises is barred, and it then goes on to define premises as a building or portion of a building. So I would think that, if you stayed out of the portion of the building(s) that were used by the school, you'd be okay. The problem is what school held on a church facility does not use the auditorium for some functions (chapel, plays, assemblies, etc.)? This is, of course, my opinion, and IANAL.arthurcw wrote:Sorry for coming to the party late on this thread.
I have a Church Carry follow-up question. What about churches that have schools as well. Is the church proper OK and all School buildings off limits. And when the school classes attend services, is the church then off limits?
Basically, I've always avoided the "school buildings" and any masses that I know are for school purposes. If it makes it easier to opine, the 2 (school and church) seem to be 2 distinct entities.
It's strictly a pocket carry occasion. Too much change of a drive by hugging.
