I think IWB is the way to go since you can avoid the gun vest or almost as bad unbottoned shirt. Once you go IWB, if you get a tuckable, you can have it both ways--tucked and just covered. I have the CTAC from Comp-Tac with the velcro clips and I love it. I tuck with it when I dress nice and I let a shirt hang over when I'm casual. I use the same rig when I compete IDPA and IPSC. It was the second holster I ever bought (after a cheap Fobus) and I've never needed another.
