Re: 20% of of carry permits in Johnson county go to criminal
From what I have read and heard the Sherrif of Johnson County is not a pro CHL person and was one of the reasons the pro RKBA's wanted a must issue.

Re: Houston Neighborhoods
The flip side of those master planned communities is that the homeowners association is sometimes run by people who would make soviet commissars blush with shame. They will land on you like a ton of bricks for painting your front door the wrong color or installing some prohibited item like a birdbat...

Re: Fort Bend County Fair......
I wen to the fair yesterday, was not carrying since I was not sure of it's status, but I did not see any postings correct or incorrect about guns. They did make very clear not to bring in food or drink or that you could not video tape anything (big 6" block letters). I did carry at the parade i...

Re: Army Surplus Store
Command Post over on Beltway 8 and Southwest Fwy has a variety of ammo cans, not sure if they have any .50 cal. It weems to be a reasonable place, a mix on new and surplus, but not like some of the older ones.

I had the same problem as well. You need to point your browser to http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The texaschlforum address is a redirect that causes problems with the BB and some browsers. I posted this from my BB.

Randomizzers Wally Walk
So I got my plastic unexpectedly on my birthday, but wasn't planning on carrying since I can't carry at work or to work, or to school functions which is what I have been doing of late. Out of the blue my wife and daughter say they are running to Walmart to pick up some things BINGO :woohoo perfect o...

Re: May 2009 Applications
I was amazed at how the speed of processing picked up. I had some friends who had taken their class in January and got their plastic in June, so I was figuring on maybe an early Christmas present, instead I got the mail today and got a Birthday present !! I was suprised since my application got sent...

Re: iwb holster
I will second the DM Bullard dual carry. I was debating between that and the Crossbreed Supertuck which a lot of people seem to like. What sold be was the Bullard is all leather and that I read somewhere that it is only 1/8 inch wider than the Supertuck. I chose the Bullard, got it in less than 30 b...

Re: Valid or not?????
Not Valid. 1. http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/taxreturns.asp 2. Went to Senate.gov and got no search result for SB-2099 3. Went to Opencongress.org, not an official government website, and only 1 result for a search on SB-2099, which was a comment for a Senator Evan Bayah encouraging him to not ...

Re: Can A Taser Be Substitute Defibrillator?
Short answer, No. Longer answer is that a Taser while generating a very high voltage, generates a very small amount of current and not enough energy to (orders of magnitude less) than a defibrillator. Second problem is that the pathway on a taser does not cross through the heart. Third problem is yo...

Re: Bought a Sigma: What's All the Fuss About?
I am happy with my Sigma 9mm, shot about a 100 rounds through it, sent it back to S&W for the trigger work and it shoots nice now. Scored me a perfect score on my CHL test, I think ony 2 shots got outside the 8 ring. I have been dry firing it a lot and practicing trigger control, the trigger is ...

I am from the Houston area and will be taking my CHL class this weekend, then need to start looking at beltrs and holsters. I also have my wife who is interested in learning to shoot, not...
