I plan to ask 25 dollars a box for the 9 and 30 a box for the .40. I am also taking an extra handgun in case someone has a problem and wants to borrow one. I figure 15 bucks to rent my handgun if they buy the ammo from me.

A company has the right to charge whatever they like - I have the right to shop wherever I like. I no longer like to shop at CTD.

As one who works in the education field that might not turn out to be a bad deal for me.

What are people thinking. I offered him $75.00 just to upset him.

Re: List price gougers here
Nope. In fact it seemed as if some dealers weren't real interested in selling. I heard a customer ask to see a gun and the guy behind the table said show me the money. He told the customer he wasn't interested in undoing the security cable unless the guy had cash in hand and was ready to buy. This is the same guy that wanted $600 for a 10/22.Abraham wrote:No one was forced to buy right?
I can pay $3.19 for regular unleaded at the nearest gas station.
Instead, I go to a different station and pay $2.96.
There's a point here...
4 weeks ago this same guy was begging people to hold a gun and see how it feels. Really nice guy back then. Now he's just a jerk.

Re: List price gougers here
I was at the show today. Longest line I have stood in for a gun show. When we left at 11:00 there was a decent line waiting to get in.C-dub wrote:At the Lewisville show today, one of the vendors had the rifle I bought back in June for $1250 for $3500. The rifle my BIL bought a few days ago for $2150, that was probably also around $1250 in June, was $3500 today. I doubt he will sell them at those prices, but good for him if he does and sorry for the person that pays.
I picked up one of Model 1 Sales complete upper kits (everything you need for an AR minus the stripped lower) for $685 out the door. Last week I picked up a stripped lower for $95. So even in the crazy times I will have an AR for under $800.

Actually I was one of the first to suggest he was way off base. Sorry if I don't feel bad for people who complain about 50 cents a week being 10 cents a week too much.Zoo wrote:You sound like some guy trying to justify the $2500 price tag on his DIY AR. I wonder why you're so fired up about other people trying to save some money in these tough economic times.jmra wrote:That argument is getting old. If you don't qualify for any of the discounts it comes out to a little over 50 cents a week. If that is a problem for you good luck buying ammo.Zoo wrote:How about the Texas government? They charge two or three times what some states do for a CHL. That's as bad as selling a basic AR for $2500.
I find that most people that feel this way smoke a pack a day buy their milk at 7Eleven.

Re: List price gougers here
I can't remember the last time I saw a win 555 pack or a fed 550 pack. I have had luck finding the 225 packs for $9.97. Also have seen a 500 pack in a wooden box for $24.95.Oldgringo wrote:It's not just "assault weapons" and their accessories.
Yesterday, I paid $28 for a 555 bulk box of Win .22 LR. AFAIK, that box that normally costs $22 was the only .22 LR within a 70 mile radius and it is now all mine.

Re: List price gougers here
S.A.W. from Mesquite had two different booths at the gun show. One under their own banner and another under the banner of "gun toyz". The gun toyz booth didn't even bother taking the old SAWs price tag off of stuff. Glock mags with a SAWs price tag of $23.95 were in bins with an index card stating a price of $48.AngryBill wrote:INeedMoreGear.com
Sells on gunbroker. Pulls his stock from his website, flipping Pmags for $45 each

If his distributor(s) knew about this behavior, I'd bet some, most or even all would discontinue selling inventory to this "retailer"
Of course the SAWs booth was selling handguns at their usual price. This was nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to give the impression that SAWs was not inflating their prices. I purchased my first AR from SAWs and recently bought my wife a handgun from them. Never again.

Re: List price gougers here
Add every vendor selling ARs or mags at the FW gun show. Prices were triple what they were at the Mesquite show last Saturday.
Entry level ARs were pushing $2k (same AR was sub $700 at last Dallas Market Hall show). Several average ARs over $3k.
AKs were running anywhere from $1k to $1700.
Mags were sky high.

Re: List price gougers here
Hate hearing that. My FFL has 25 on order of which my friend and I had reserved a total of 5. Was quoted $109. Guess that's not going to happen.OldCannon wrote:Well, supply chain increases, due to ramping up manufacturing to meet demand, have hit me -- the New Frontier Armory lowers have been raised to $149 according to recent info from New Frontier. They've also correspondingly raised dealer prices.
Sigh.
They're still a good deal at $149, but it certainly diminishes the ability to influence buyers on price alone.
Worse: It looks like I might have to pay MORE for the order I placed early last month, which hasn't been fulfilled yet.
