Re: Nightshift....wait...what time is it

I know where you're coming from, gigag. I used to pull all-nighters for school/work all the time. If my watch/phone did not have the date on them I would be completely lost as to what day (i.e., Monday, Tuesday, etc.) or date it was. I can't tell you the number of times I showed up for my Friday mor...

Re: 3 dead at Alabama university.

This is really sad. Especially considering that the people killed and wounded were completely defenseless. Gun free zoning did not prevent this lady from shooting several people. Go figure. As an employee at a university I just sent a follow-up email to a representative of Senator Ogden's campaign. ...

Re: Employer Parking Lot Bill in 2010

I actually had a nice email conversation with a member of Senator Ogden's campaign. From the conversation I gather that his opposition to the bill that was presented is solely based on removing the current "opt-in" feature of the legislation. Basically the clause as written allows a public...

Re: Employer Parking Lot Bill in 2010

Thanks for reminding me, 74novaman. I just fired off a similar note to the campaign manager. What a joke of an ad he has.

Re: May 2009 Applications

Well, I got the dreaded "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent." message today when I checked my status — although I'm not sure how long it's been there as I've been exercising restraint in checking it compulsively. I decided to call and see what the ...

Re: May 2009 Applications

Thirteen days in and DPS finally cashed my check. I wish I wasn't so diligent with counting the days… This is going to be torturous . I've already picked out the holster and belt I want, although I'm going to hold off on the belt for a while as I am trying to lose some weight. I'd hate to spend $90 ...

Re: Introduce yourself

Howdy. Today I purchased my first firearm. It's a Springfield XD 9mm subcompact which will be my carry weapon after I complete a training course on April 19 and wait for the plastic in the mail. I've been lurking around here for a couple of days and am thoroughly impressed with the breadth of knowle...
