Gotcha. Glad he didn't mind. Did you ask him what he did for a living? A Bently and a 3K 1911, he may have the right idea career wise! (or maybe he just has a lot of debt.)

I'm not trying to say you necessarily did anything wrong. And a cop has every right to disarm someone if they feel the situation warrants it.

But if you were the person pulled over, would you like for the cop to take your carry piece (expensive or otherwise) back and dry fire it and mess around with it? Or let a 3rd party do so?

It is one thing to disarm for the officers safety. It is another thing for him to then play with my gun. If he likes my car, should I let him take that for a spin too?

Just doesn't sit right with me.

I'd be filing a report if an officer pulled me over, then let someone doing a ride along play with my $3,000 gun.
