Has to be...how else did they get the pictures? Shows that as much of a jerk he was on tv, he at least can take a bit of a joke. I think.Dave2 wrote:That is funny. I wonder if Jake's in on it?Domineaux wrote:Found out that Mike Hughes is selling Jake targets so I'm spreading the word:

Re: Top Shot 3
The best part of Jakes little hissy fit way of "I'm going to go out on my own terms" was that opened the door for Mike, the guy he liked the least to get back on the show.
So now, Jakes gone and Mikes there. How does that feel, jake?

Re: Top Shot 3
Pretty good episode. That redhead needs to man up though. He talks an awful lot, and then didn't back it up at all with the shotgun. He should have been in the elimination I think.
BTW, I hate the top shot threads....I don't have cable, so I have to watch it the next day. Have to tread lightly around the firearms forums on wednesdays to keep things spoiler free.

Re: Top Shot 3
I think the serious female competitors, like the serious male competitors would rather spend that month or two (however long it is) actually in touch with their families, going to work, getting on with their lives.A-R wrote:Sara's grip on the M&P was horrible. There was at least a half inch gap between top of her hand and underside of the beavertail. Methinks this contributed mightily to her shortcomings. Can't control the recoil if you don't have a firm, high grip.
I am sick of the "token female competitors " always going home early in the last two seasons. The need to get Jessie Abate or Julie Golob on the show
It takes a special type of person to want to be paraded on TV like that. We'll never see the cream of the crop, shooting wise on a gameshow like this.
But its still amusing to watch.

Re: Top Shot 3
He's had several statements that make me kind of go . Claimed to have been accepted to the Naval Academy as a freshman in high school. Then later stated he spent 5 years there. (prep school I guess?).
Word on some of the other boards is that he isn't very well respected on the Teams because as soon as he got out (after only 4 years or so) he started bad mouthing to the press about how racist the seals were.
Also, I'm fairly terrified that a swat officer could shoot that terribly with her duty weapon. She blamed it on pressure...but come on! Serving warrants on dangerous felons isn't pressure? Sheesh. Remind me to stay out of IL if that's the shooting capability of their officers.

Re: Top Shot 3
Same. My wife is tolerant and supportive..but not interested in joining me for a range trip. However, she really enjoys top shot. Top Shot in my mind is good PR for non gunnies. It may drive us nuts that there is so much drama and extra junk thrown in, but thats what gets people that aren't into guns interested in watching, and hopefully someday trying the sport out themselves.Express wrote:My wife doesn't like guns, but likes to watch Top Shot.
I liked the first challenge - riding shotgun
Every person that starts shooting is one more ally in our fight against the gun banners.

Re: Top Shot 3
That has changed some from last season..more follow of shot from gun to target instead of generic "boom" shots, which I like.koolaid wrote:It doesn't annoy you that you very rarely get to see any of the actual shots? It would be like watching a football game where everytime the ball was passed it cut to a generic slow motion shot of an actor dramatically catching a ball before cutting back to the actual players just standing around after the play.TXlaw1 wrote:On both counts!! More shooting and less lip flapping. And it is great to see the wide variety of weapons used and the actual results with slow motion.Divided Attention wrote:I watch for the amazing photography! The stop motion etc is awesome! I can; however, do without the drama I have teens for that!
I'd also like to see more head to head matches like they had towards the end of last season with the plate breaking and the flipping targets. That was a lot more fun to watch then the aforementioned guys standing around while stock slow motion video is played.
If nothing else, the show helps normalize shooting sports for people. My wife thoroughly enjoys watching the show, partially because its more than just shooting, but a little tv drama thrown in.
Any show that puts responsible people competing with guns like the LaRue OBR, and AKs like they're doing next week, not to mention those evil .50 cals capable of shooting down a plane on tv every week and letting people see it as normal is a GREAT thing.
