Big D NYE (Downtown Dallas New Year's Eve)
Does anyone know if the Big D NYE (Downtown Dallas New Year's Eve) event is considered a non-carry event? they have on their site the following under the "rules" section (http://www.bigdnye.com/rules/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;): ITEMS PROHIBITED Weapons of an...

Starwars at the Death Star
Yes, I went. Yes it was awesome. This past weekend was an event at the new "jerry world" or Death Star or Cowboys Stadium (whichever name suits you) . A complete orchestra performed music from Starwars while the voice of C3PO narrated the event. It was pretty spectacular watching it on tha...

Re: Rec Center
Ok, so If I understand it correctly, since the sign is not 30.06 spec and its a city location where no city meetings or business are held, than carry is ok regardless of the sign?
Cool.
Thanks!

Ok, i understand this is probably a stupid question, but does the posting below satisfy the 30.06 or does the town ordinance suffice? "The possession of firearms and other weapons or explosives are prohibited by Town Ordinance." This is posted in small white letters on a general rules sect...

Re: Prior to Having License in Hand....
Wow. This was exactly my concern when I started this post. We all try so hard to abide by the law and do the right thing. Really unfortunate that fellow 'packers' are having this kind of trouble. I guess since there is no 'public' way to view your dps records you have no real way of knowing what the...

Prior to Having License in Hand....
Ok, so i just got the "App Completed - license issued or certificate active" label listed on the DPS site for my CHL. Does this mean that If I get stopped for a traffic violation or asked by any other officer to show identification that I need to fully disclose that I have a CHL? I dont ha...

Re: February Applications
Emailed DPS for a update. Got this reply:
"We are currently awaiting the printing of the license. Thank you for your continued patience."
Nice.

Re: February Applications
Does anyone know how often do they update the DPS CHL site? Once a day? As your application is processed?

Re: February Applications
I am back in processing. It appears that faxing and mailing the correction made for a relatively swift turn around.

Re: February Applications
Well, found out that I was missing a couple dates for my residence section. Faxed and mailed the corrections today. Ugh.
Start the clock all over.....I was 53 days in.
Ugh.
I guess I am living up to my name....again.

Re: February Applications
Ugh. Just notified on the website that "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent."
I have no idea what i could be missing. Very frustrating to get this now after a couple weeks of being in the "Application Pending" status.

Re: February Applications
Strange. Ok, so today my status reads "Application Processing". YIPEE! 60 days out and counting.... :rules: It really would be nice if they had a more informative system. Seems like it would cut down on all the calls and emails if they could more clearly describe where you are in the proce...
